    Mack:

Great choice. Is that guitar player the one that died or someone else. I saw the Pretenders in 1982 (IIRC) at UNH in Durham, NH. Very loud, wonderfully entertaining. You must have “Isle of View”.

If you want scary eyeliner, might I recommend Alice Cooper (who I quit liking along with Ted Nugent, Toby Keith and a host of other asshats). Now, that eyeliner, is scary shit.

  5. Wait! No! Alice Cooper has become an asshat?! That ruins my whole day.

I think his asshatedness is of long standing.

    Alice Cooper

Shock-rock legend Alice Cooper calls rock stars campaigning for Democrat John Kerry treasonous morons.

The 56-year-old Cooper says he was disgusted to learn the likes of Bruce Springsteen, John Mellencamp, R.E.M., Sheryl Crow, James Taylor and Dave Matthews were hitting the road for a series of concerts designed to help defeat President Bush.

“To me, that’s treason,” Cooper told the Canadian Press. “I call it treason against rock ‘n’ roll because rock is the antithesis of politics. Rock should never be in bed with politics.”

“”Besides, when I read the list of people who are supporting Kerry, if I wasn’t already a Bush supporter, I would have immediately switched. Linda Ronstadt? Don Henley? Geez, that’s a good reason right there to vote for Bush.””

Alice Cooper: Palin a ‘breath of fresh air’

    Blabbermouth.net:

Although legendary rocker Alice Cooper has been often quoted in the media as a supporter of the Republican Party, Cooper set the record straight during a recent interview with Canada’s Hour.ca. “I’ll be honest, I go from Democrat to Republican,” he said. “I vote for the person, not the party. [As for U.S. Vice President hopeful Sarah Palin], I think she’s totally a breath of fresh air. When they say she has no experience, maybe that’s what Washington needs. I still don’t know who I’m going to vote for. But in a shooting war, I want a pit bull, not a poodle. I’m gonna go for the hawk.”

You have to appreciate the way Ms. Alice fluffs for Bush and then Palin while decrying celebrities espousing their political views. He’s not only an asshat, he’s an asshole AND a hypocrite.

In other news, it also appears that the vastly untalented Toby Keith’s rumored affection for Mr. Obama is not, thank you GOD, true.

While many American celebrities are backing McCain’s opponent Barack Obama, Keith insists the Democrats have lost his vote. He says, “They’ve run me out of the (Democratic Party). They don’t represent anything I stand for anymore. But there are just as many sickos on the right. That’s why I’m not registering Republican. But I don’t see things right and left, I see them right and wrong.”

And he is voting Republican purely because of vice presidential candidate Palin – because she’s the closest thing to a “human” politician. Keith tells People magazine, “I think she is the best thing in politics at that level I’ve ever seen. I hate politicians, and she’s as far from one as you can get. She’s a mother, she’s a human being. And I can sympathize with her. She went from being an unknown governor to being on the cover of every magazine.”
